Painting For Pantry’s

IRMO, SC - October 4, 2012 - During the entire month of November, come paint for the holidays while helping families in our community. Art Smart Academy is partnering with Acts Metro to host Painting For Pantry’s. Painting For Pantry’s is an event that allows people to enjoy a fun evening of art while stocking food shelves for those in need.Acts Metro is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to bring hope, love and life change to families in need in and around the Columbia area. They accomplish this by serving around 30 families and 100 children each month.
Acts Metro provides monthly supplemental food along with equipping each family with a personal mentor. In addition to providing financial assistance towards monthly household bills, Acts Metro also has a program in place to help families purchase their own home. Helping families in need obtain their own residence, increasing the importance of education, and changing the environment of those affected is a key part of Acts Metro’s goal of stopping generational poverty.
Art Smart Academy invites anyone wanting to help support Painting For Pantry’s to come in and paint one free holiday ornament or receive five dollars off any purchase of $10 or more in exchange for bringing in 3 non-perishable food items to be donated to Acts Metro.
