9th Annual b106.7FM Children’s Hospital Radiothon To Be Held March 6-9

COLUMBIA, SC - March 4, 2010 - Palmetto Health Foundation is pleased to announce that the 9th Annual b106.7FM Children’s Hospital Radiothon will be held March 6-9 at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.
Throughout the weekend, b106.7FM listeners will hear more than just music. They’ll hear stories from children and families who have been helped by Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. It’s all part of a philanthropic effort to raise money for Children’s Hospital.
Radiothon, a Children’s Miracle Network event, will kick off on March 6 with a special edition of “Revenge of the 80s” on b106.7FM. Throughout the weekend, local celebrities will join b106.7FM on-air personalities Brent Johnson, George Kearns, Tony Clyburn and Jodi Paige to generate excitement and encourage listeners to call in their pledges.
For a fourth year, Palmetto Health Foundation has partnered with WIS News 10 to feature miracle stories and to hold a live phone bank, sponsored by Delta Dental, from Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, March 9. WIS News 10 and b106.7 will simultaneously announce the grand total raised at approximately 7 p.m. on March 9.
Children’s Miracle Network partners also are joining in the celebration with special promotions and activities for Radiothon. On Monday, March 8, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Great Clips stylists will hold a Cut-A-Thon at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. For a donation of $10 or more, Great Clips will give visitors a haircut on-site. As part of their Children’s Miracle Network campaign, Great Clips is selling Miracle Balloons for $2 . Each Miracle Balloon includes a $2 coupon towards a future haircut. Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union is a partner and sponsor of Change Bandits, a program that encourages people to collect loose coins to benefit Children’s Hospital. Those who would like to participate can pick up a Change Bandits kit at any Palmetto Citizens location in the Midlands.
