Newberry College Holds Terrana Competition

NEWBERRY, SC - March 4, 2010 - The Sixth Annual Michael W. Terrana Competitive Logic and Mathematics Exam was held on February 19, 2010. The competition is a 45-minute exam testing students’ mathematical and logical reasoning skills. This exam is held every year by the department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics and is open to all Newberry College students.

The first place winner of competition was Lindsey Workman, a freshman from Aiken, S.C., Workman received the $100.00 prize from the competition. The second place winner was Elaina Alcocer, a freshman from Clinton, S.C., Alcocer received a $50.00 prize.
The contest is named for Dr. Victor Terrana’s late father and is funded through an endowment contributed to by family member, friends and others in the Newberry family. The exam is held every year and is open to all Newberry College students.
