Tapp’s Arts Center’s August First Thursday Lineup Featuring Melvin Green

First Thursday on Main Thursday, August 2, from 5 to 10 p.m.
Tapp’s Arts Center, 1644 Main Street

COLUMBIA, SC - Tapp’s Arts Center, Columbia’s center for art and music at 1644 Main Street, announces its August First Thursdays on Main lineup. The public is invited to mingle with the artists and see their work, as well as visit Tapp’s studio artists’ studios.

South Carolina native Melvin Green studied art and lived in New York until he moved to Mexico in 1967 to become a serious independent artist and painter. Since then, the artist has been featured in exhibitions throughout the United States and Mexico. His paintings are influenced by the Gullah culture and he has been praised for his ability to combine expressionism, primitivism and cubism. Green passed away in 2007.
