Bryan's LAWN MAINTENANCE & LANDSCAPE, INC.

Bryan Starnes - founder and president of Bryan's Lawn Maintenance and Landscape, Inc - can design, install and maintain a fantastic landscape for your home or commercial property.

In 1987, Starnes began with a push-mower hauled around in the back of a Ford Mustang. He now heads a company with nine full-time landscape professionals, five customized trucks, ten high-production lawn mowers, two heavy duty landscape tractors, two Dingo Digging systems and over 80 specialized power tools. Using computer-aided design (CAD) and digital imaging, Bryan's helps you see your vision by creating realistic 3D views of your plan before you even start.

Even more importantly, he's cultivated a customer base that trusts and uses his company - over and over.

"We have clients who've been with us for over ten years," Starnes said. "I've actually followed some of my customers from home to home, two and three times, to create new landscapes for them."

What sets Bryan's apart is its turn-key approach. Starnes and his team can take a project from design to installation to maintenance, and they provide the full range of landscape and hardscape options: lawns, plants, trees, patios, outdoor kitchens and rooms, retaining walls, water features and anything else the customer and Bryan's can dream up together.

"No matter what your project, it only takes one phone call to us to get the whole project designed, installed and maintained," Starnes said.

Mike Ward, Bryan's Vice President of Operations has been with the company for 17 years, and he says that creativity is the key to both his own enjoyment of the job and customers' satisfaction with the work.

"We have clients who let us really use our imaginations and come up with some really cool ideas," Ward said. "It's a blessing to have customers like that and to be able to see something taking shape every single day."

Starnes credits Ward and his other employees with the company's success.

"These guys go the extra mile and take great pride in doing something that will really impress a customer," Starnes said.

The biggest change Starnes has seen in 20 years of business is the desire for hardscape - elements such as brick, pavers or stone, as well as water features and lighting.

"People want their surroundings to look nice all the time, whether they are indoors or out, and hardscape really lets you expand that nice outdoor look beyond a beautiful lawn or garden," he said.

About 75 percent of Bryan's business is residential. The balance of the company's work includes industrial sites, business parks, other commercial properties and multi-family housing. Bryan's also has a Christmas Decor Division to provide holiday lighting and creative displays at residential and commercial properties.

Bryan's works in some of the area's most desirable residential developments, including Ascot, Hope Ferry Estates and Spence's Plantation.

"We absolutely want to cater to people," Starnes said. "We believe that's how you earn not just their business, but their trust."
