In June, a unique company was launched at the USC Technology Incubator.  52apps uses a proprietary framework to create high-quality iPhone and iPad apps in less than a week. The cool part? - it bases its apps on ideas from the general public.  Co-founders, Brendan Lee and Chris Thibault brought this unique business model to the Midlands with the help of Columbia technology entrepreneur Stephen Leicht (who now serves as CEO of 52apps) and Bill Kirkland, entrepreneur in residence at the USC/Columbia Technology Incubator.
